Anterior Approach Hip Replacements

Traditionally, patients facing joint replacement surgery are nervous about recovery time. Thanks to technological advancements, NGPG can help significantly reduce the amount of down-time hip replacement patient’s experience.

We are pleased to offer the anterior approach hip replacement procedure.  During this procedure our orthopedic surgeons are able to use a state-of-the-art surgical suite which includes a Hana® table.

The Hana® table allows for safe rotation and placement of the leg, incorporating a lift and support system that allows for improved component placement – a positioning option not possible with conventional surgery tables.

With the help of this modern table, our surgeons can easily access the hip joint, resulting in less damage to surrounding tendons, muscles and cartilage.  With ease of access, improved component placement and less damage to the surrounding area, anterior approach hip replacement patients typically heal quickly—they are commonly back on their feet on the next day.

Additionally, with the anterior approach post-operative hip dislocation issues, common to the traditional (posterior) hip replacement surgery, are far less common.  With the posterior approach the stability of the hip is more compromised after the removal of, or distress to, the pelvic muscle.  With the anterior approach, the hip is more stable because the pelvic muscle is not touched during surgery.
