    Dr. Hazel sees all general orthopedic patients and has a concentration and sub-specialty certification in Sports Medicine. He will see patients for ACL repair, IT band syndrome, fractures, patellar tendonitis and upper extremity conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures, joint pain, tendonitis, trigger finger.

    Meet Dr. Mark Hazel of NGPG Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Dr. Hazel received his medical degree from Louisiana State University and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Texas Tech University Health System in Lubbock, Texas.  He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with a sub-specialty certification in sports medicine and more than 18 years of orthopedic and sports medicine experience in Texas, North Carolina and, most recently, Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and SurgiCenter in Murfreesboro, Tenn.  Over the years, Dr. Hazel has enjoyed the privilege of serving as team physician for a multitude of high schools, colleges and athletic associations.

    “I spent years coaching sports for my four sons, and, now that they are all off at school, I am excited about the opportunity to serve more teams and athletic programs through my work with NGPG,”  says Dr. Hazel. “I’m also an avid outdoorsman, so I look forward to exploring all that North Georgia has to offer.”
