Craig Baden, MD

Physician of the Month

Dr. Craig Baden received his bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before attending Wheaton College in Chicago to explore his faith and receive a master’s degree in Theology. Motivated by a strong desire to serve and care for others, Dr. Baden decided to return to the University of North Carolina and attend medical school. He eventually decided radiation oncology allowed him to apply his background in physics while providing personal care to cancer patients.

Dr. Baden is patient focused, compassionate and hard working. He is always approachable and kind to staff. He works very hard and carries a heavy patient load. Our staff appreciates all that he does and wants to recognize him for all that he does for NGPG Radiation Oncology.

Michelle Davis, AGACNP

Advanced Practice Provider of the Month

Michelle Davis is a provider with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group specializing in Vascular Surgery. Michelle obtained her clinical education from University of Alabama at Birmingham and she is a board-certified Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.

Michelle goes above and beyond in all she does. Last year, she became pregnant with twins and made sure all the APP schedules were completed prior to going out on maternity leave in November (early). She maintains the APP Calendar and is our Lead APP for Vascular.  She also handles the scheduling of the mentorship program.  She works hard to assure our new APP’s joining our group are trained and oriented appropriately by making sure everyone has the tools to succeed. She does this all this while raising TWINS.  She is amazing!

Rick Valentine, MBA-HC

Employee of the Month

Rick Valentine is a coordinator for the Inpatient Hospital Medicine team, where he coordinates physician and APP/PA workflow.

He is an incredible employee and colleague who embodies all of NGPG’s core values. He has a true passion for excellence and can always be counted on to arrange complex schedules, coordinate events and meetings and attend to supply issues flawlessly. He is an excellent wingman, exemplifying deep interdependence by assisting our providers with good humor and by helping and serving as a resource to his fellow coordinators. Rick demonstrates respectful compassion, both to providers and to patients. He is our designated “compassion interviewer” and visits patients one on one to perform surveys regarding the level of compassion shown by our providers to the patients. Finally, Rick is a responsible steward, both by ordering and tracking supplies in an efficient way and by maintaining multiple schedules and reminding providers of upcoming deadlines and responsibilities, essentially managing the “resource” of providers. Finally, Rick does everything with tremendous patience and humor, making him a favorite with the group.
