Physician of the Month
Dr. Travelyan Walker is a board-certified physician with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group specializing in General Surgery. He earned his medical degree from Morehouse University.
Dr. Walker is liked by all his patients! He explains procedures in depth and takes time to listen to questions and concerns, which puts our patients at ease before surgery. He exemplifies the traits of a good surgeon such as, empathy, honesty, integrity, dedication and devotion, nondiscrimination, compassion, ethics, and professionalism. Dr. Walker always has a smile on his face, shows kindness and appreciation to staff and patients alike and goes above and beyond to provide the highest level of care.
Lauren Marder, AGACNP
Advanced Practice Provider of the Month
Lauren Marder is a provider with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Critical Care. She obtained her clinical education from Mercer University – Georgia Baptist College of Nursing and she is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner.
Lauren is a provider that not only cares for our patients while working under the Critical Care Management Team, but also when covering for Georgia Heart Institute and our Cardiology Team. She is a great leader, especially during a crisis. Her instructions are always clear and in direct coordination with the nursing staff. She is cordial, respectful, and patient.
Recently, she helped fight for a young mother’s life. Even after an already difficult and eventful night, she managed to push through her own fatigue to overcome an emotional scene and lead her team towards effective interventions that eventually resulted in the survival of this patient. She never gave up and moved methodically through the clinical challenges that presented during this emergency. She has been instrumental to the survival of many of our patients throughout the years.
Jacob Lunsford
Employee of the Month
Jacob is a huge asset to NGPG Urgent Care in Dawsonville. He maintains the front desk while often multitasking in other areas where he is needed. He frequently travels to other offices in the system when help is needed. Most recently he assisted with the opening of our Urgent Care in Jefferson.
He consistently volunteers and speaks up in instances when others might not have the voice. Jacob is a true example of Passion for Excellence!
