Justin Barrett, MD
Physician of the Month
Dr. Barrett received his medical degree from Mercer University and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center and affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Barrett is an Orthopedic Surgeon and is fellowship-trained in Hand, Upper Extremity and Reconstructive Microsurgery. In addition to hand, peripheral nerve and microvascular surgery, his specialties include arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, elbow and wrist. He is also interested in treating athletic injuries, particularly of the upper extremity. During residency, he trained with team physicians and hand consultants of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Tech.
Patients truly love Dr. Barrett and the work he does. You can see – and hear – every day just how much his patients appreciate him. He’s always careful to follow through with patients, making sure he answers their questions and concerns. He’s constantly making those around him better.
He’s also recently gone above and beyond his regular duties by helping with the credentialing process for the new Braselton Surgery Center. Many times, he had to move his clinic times in order to accompany this. Not only is he making his patients a priority – he’s making the whole community a priority.
Meredith Brown, FNP
Advanced Practice Provider of the Month
Meredith Brown is a provider with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, specializing in Orthopedic Surgery. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Chamberlain University.
Meredith is one of those people that others feel comfortable around. They’re always able to open up and feel like they’re being heard. She goes above and beyond with every patient – not only seeing them for their hand and upper extremity needs, but also checking in on any social, economic and behavioral challenges they may be facing. This alone has proven to be life-saving for some patients.
Meredith’s attention to these details is what is most impressive in her care. She’s checking in on patients almost daily and truly cares about all of their health needs.

Donna Worley always has a positive attitude when she’s at work. She truly goes above and beyond, making sure each patient she comes in contact with leaves with a good experience. She makes an impression on everyone she works with, as she’s constantly smiling and bringing a positive energy to the team.
She is always willing to learn and never turns down an opportunity to help others. Even when she’s away from work, she’s checking in to see what she can do, and if there are any needs.
