Mushtaq Qureshi, MD, is a board-certified neurologist provider with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group. Dr. Qureshi received his medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences. He then went on to complete a residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, followed by a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Emory University Hospital.
Dr. Qureshi’s passion for excellence in his role in inpatient neurology has been described as “Second to none.” The knowledge he has in his field is constantly being shared with others, making them better at what they do every day. Not only is he always thinking of others and finding new ways to expain and educate, he’s always listening. Whether it’s to patients, colleagues or referring providers, Dr. Qureshi is listening so he’s able to deliver the best care possible.
He’s always speaks up with interest in complex cases at NGMC, but even when he’s connected to other regional hospitals that need an expert opinion. Dr. Qureshi is the one the inpatient neurology team often calls on, and he never lets them down. Even when the job gets stressful, he remains calm, appreciative and gracious.
Rachel Metz, PA
Advanced Practice Provider of the Month
Rachel Metz is a provider with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, specializing in Orthopedic Surgery. Rachel obtained her clinical education from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a board-certified Physician Assistant.
Rachel is always caring for her patients’ needs. She takes valuable time with each one and connects with them on a deep level to make them feel comfortable. She not only listens and answers all questions up front, she personally calls her patients to go over any results and follow up.
But it’s not just her patients that she cares so well for, she cares about her coworkers, too. She’s shown tremendous growth over the last few months by taking the lead with helping to train newer PAs. She’s always there to answer questions and is a strong, trustworthy and reliable voice everyone leans on.
Shanna Dowdy
Employee of the Month
Shanna Dowdy is a medical office assistance for neurosurgery in Braselton. She’s the first person you see when you walk through the door and she is always kind, compassionate and cares for others. Many patients who come into the office have had extensive surgeries, and some have many more ahead of them. Without fail, she’s always able to put a smile on their faces.
She continues to go the extra mile by getting patients water or anything else they need, andhelping back to their appointment if they need it. She not only does this for neurosurgery, but she’s always willing to lend a helping hand for other departments. No matter how difficult the work gets, she always has a smile on her face and continues to help others.
