Chad Muxlow, DO
Physician of the Month
Dr. Chad J. Muxlow is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in both Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery. He specializes in the non-operative and operative treatment of the shoulder, knee and elbow, as well as sports related injuries. Dr. Muxlow received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete a residency at Michigan State and a fellowship at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia.
Dr. Muxlow is relatively new to our practice but has already shown how valuable he is. He shows great compassion for his patients and goes above and beyond to help them understand their treatment plan. He is an amazing surgeon with excellent results – a true craftsmen in the operating room!
Lacey Hook, PA
Advanced Practice Provider of the Month
Lacey Hook is a board-certified physician’s assistant specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Lacey obtained her clinical education from University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Lacey is a valued member of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery team (CVT). Lacey has been instrumental in keeping the CVT program running in a smooth manor during some department restructure. She is a cheerleader for our team and does a great job “rallying the troops,” so to speak. Her leadership skills are above par, and our patients, physicians and peers love her!

Valerie Merck is a medical office assistance for NGPG Oakwood. Valerie is a great example of dedication, hard work, compassion, and excellence. She is a great employee, always doing her best to help our office flow and to give the best customer service possible. Valerie always assists our patients in the most caring and attentive way making sure they are being heard and treated with respect. She goes above and beyond for every single patient. We are truly blessed to have her at NGPG Oakwood!
