NGPG podiatry welcomes foot ankle surgeon Charles Peebles DPM to Winder

Published: Monday, March 16, 2026

From serving as a team physician for the Atlanta Hawks to caring for runners at the Peachtree Road Race, Charles Peebles – a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon – has seen pretty much everything that can go wrong with people’s feet and knows how to help them. Now Dr. Peebles is bringing that expertise to care for patients through Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Podiatry (NGPG) in Winder, and he will perform foot and ankle surgeries at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Barrow.

“Working with everyone from professional athletes to weekend warriors to first-time runners taught me a great deal about performance, recovery and injury prevention,” said Dr. Peebles. “Whether you’re an athlete or simply want to walk without pain, my goal is to keep you moving safely and confidently. I always begin with conservative treatments when possible, and I use surgical options only when they’re the best path to help you return to the activities you love.”

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Peebles received his medical degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his surgical residency in Atlanta. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery.

After several years practicing most recently in Kentucky, Dr. Peebles and his wife chose to return to Georgia to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

“We were looking for a place outside the city where we could be near family and become part of a community.” he shared. “The podiatry team at NGPG is exceptional, and their commitment to serving patients aligns perfectly with my approach.”

Dr. Peebles’ clinical interests include sports medicine and the treatment of overuse injuries, as well as comprehensive foot and ankle surgery for both routine and complex conditions. He also has significant experience in diabetic foot care and works with patients to optimize shoe choices and biomechanics to support long‑term mobility and activity.

Outside of work, Dr. Peebles enjoys hiking with his wife, exploring the North Georgia mountains, and spending time with their family.

Dr. Peebles is now accepting new patients. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, please call 770-867-4110 or visit ngpg.org/peebles.
