Telehealth Primary Care FAQs
Virtual Primary Care is a full primary care service delivered entirely through video visits. NGPG has a dedicated doctor who provides these telehealth visits, which are exactly like the same checkups and ongoing care management you’d expect from an in-person primary care provider – just without the trip to the office.
Yes. NGPG’s on-demand urgent care video visits and E-Visits are designed for one-time, urgent needs like a cold, rash or UTI. Virtual Primary Care is different. It’s about building an ongoing relationship with one dedicated telehealth doctor who manages your overall health over time, just like a traditional primary care practice.
It’s ideal for generally healthy adults, 18+ years old, who need an annual physical, routine preventive care or prescription management, and who value convenience over in-person visits.
Yes. You’ll see the same dedicated primary care provider for all of your Virtual Primary Care visits, so your care stays consistent and personal.
Your virtual doctor will let you know if something requires an in-person visit, such as bloodwork, imaging or a hands-on exam and they will coordinate a convenient nearby location for you to visit. Most of your ongoing care, however, can still happen virtually.
No. NGPG Virtual Primary Care is available to patients throughout the greater Atlanta area – including Alpharetta, Atlanta, Duluth, Dunwoody, Lawrenceville, Peachtree Corners, Roswell, Suwanee and surrounding communities in north Georgia.
All you need is a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera, microphone and internet connection. You’ll connect through a secure patient portal.
Most major insurance plans cover Virtual Primary Care visits the same way they’d cover an in-person primary care appointment or any other video visit. Standard copays or coinsurance may apply depending on your plan.
Your virtual provider can prescribe medications and send them electronically to your preferred pharmacy, just as they would during an in-person visit.
