Where Should I Go to Receive Care?

Published: Monday, May 10, 2021

Are you sick, injured or simply looking for routine care? We understand that the number of healthcare choices can be overwhelming. That’s why Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) is here to help you find the right care at the right time.

These types of care are available at NGPG and Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC):

Primary Care

This should be your first stop if you’re needing routine, non-emergency care. Your primary care physician knows you and your health best. Our family medicine and internal medicine providers offer patient-centered expertise to help treat common illnesses, as well as more complex health conditions.

Urgent Care

If your primary care doctor is not available, Urgent Care provides care for non-life-threatening medical conditions. You do not need an appointment, but you can save your spot online and visit any time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week

Video Visits

During a video visit, you will connect directly with one of NGPG’s providers for diagnosis and treatment through your phone or computer – saving you the trip to a clinic. Video visits are available every day and may also be available after hours and on weekends for various specialties, including primary care, internal medicine, pediatrics and more.

After-Hours Care (Telemed)

With Telemed, you can get quick answers to your healthcare questions at no charge! If you are an established primary care or specialty patient (including pediatrics) and have a non-emergent issue after hours or on the weekend, you can connect with an NGPG on-call provider by calling your provider or specialist’s regular business line and holding until the Telemed service answers. Simply provide your name, birth date and reason for calling, and the on-call provider will return your call within an hour.

E-Visits

E-Visits are a convenient, fast and effective option for a few basic healthcare issues – just by filling out a questionnaire on your computer or smartphone. There’s just a $40 fee, and submissions are reviewed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Emergency Care

Emergency room care should be reserved for very serious or life-threatening problems. At the NGMC Emergency Departments, you’ll receive high-quality emergency care from a specialized team of board-certified emergency medicine physicians, expert nurses, paramedics and technicians, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
