The staff and family medicine providers at Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) in Gainesville are thrilled to have William Bostock, DO, join our practice at Medical Park 2.
When Dr. Bostock was applying to medical school, he made two promises to his own family medicine physician — the one who wrote a recommendation letter for his entrance into medical school. Dr. Bostock promised to return the favor of helping others achieve their dreams of attending medical school, and he also promised to teach young doctors before he retired. He’s already made good on both of those promises and is eager to continue doing so at one of NGPG’s Graduate Medical Education (GME)-affiliated practices.
“I enjoy spending time working with young, bright minds, teaching them and learning from them,” Dr. Bostock said. “So, to join a practice that has this caliber of a GME program is fantastic. I’m excited to watch and help it grow as I get to know all of my own patients.”
After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Armstrong State College in 1976, Dr. Bostock went on to the Medical College of Georgia where he received his physician’s assistant degree. In 1983, he graduated from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri, with a degree in osteopathic medicine and returned to the Medical College of Georgia to complete his residency in family medicine.
Dr. Bostock was in private practice from 1986 until 2014, when he left for the role of Osteopathic Program Director in Family Medicine for Gwinnett Medical Center’s GME Program. At NGPG Gainesville, he’ll serve as part of the practice’s core faculty, doing research, teaching and managing his practice with the residents around him.
Dr. Bostock and his wife are new grandparents and enjoy spending time with their three children who all live close by. He’s an avid fisherman who likes to spend time on his bass boat on Lake Lanier or Lake Hartwell. He also enjoys time on the golf course and is an active member of his Lawrenceville church.
Dr. Bostock is a natural teacher and is excited for the new adventure ahead with NGPG Family Medicine, where physicians and advanced practice providers diagnose and treat multiple medical problems, ranging from sore throat to heart disease, for patients of all ages, and at Medical Park 2, patients have even more eyes on their care with resident physicians.
NGPG Family Medicine is happy to have family medicine resident physicians at our practice who work alongside our providers to care for their patients. The practice in Gainesville is open Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at 1439 Jesse Jewell Parkway, Suite 102.
