Gainesville seems to be growing more and more by the day, and Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) is making sure people moving into the area have easy access to primary care by adding Mingli “Michael” Feng, DO, to join its internal medicine clinic on Sims Street, just off Jesse Jewell Parkway.
Dr. Feng, who is currently accepting new patients, enjoys learning about technology almost as much as he enjoys practicing medicine. And he actually believes the two go hand in hand. Whether he’s in the exam room or working on projects to help patients better understand their health, his goal has always been to make healthcare easier to navigate.
“Medicine can be complicated, but I don’t think it should feel confusing,” Dr. Feng said. “I want my patients to leave every visit understanding what’s going on with their health and feeling confident about the next steps we’re taking together.”
Dr. Feng grew up in Georgia and earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Georgia Institute of Technology before completing his graduate studies in neuroscience at Georgia State University. He went on to earn his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee and then completed his internal medicine residency at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center in Augusta.
“Over the years, I’ve continued combining my interests in medicine and technology by developing ideas for health-focused apps that could help patients track their health, learn about medical conditions and become more engaged in their care,” Dr. Feng said.
Outside of work, Dr. Feng enjoys traveling, spending time with family, discovering new restaurants, watching sports and keeping up with emerging technology.
