GAINESVILLE, Ga. – J. Clifton Hastings, III, MD, FACS; A. Daniel Winston, MD; J. Alan Wolfe, MD; Necole Acton, NP-C; Haley Boyce, PA-C; Lindsay Drevlow, PA-C; Josh Lowman, PA-C; Joy Steinkraus, PA-C; and the staff at Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery welcome Kyle Thompson, MD, to the practice.

Dr. Thompson’s introduction to cardiothoracic surgery started after he graduated from the University of Alabama – Birmingham and went on to work as a Cardiothoracic Surgical Physician Assistant in Jackson, Mississippi.  After a few years assisting, he went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Mississippi.  Prior to completing his Cardiothoracic Surgical residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Thompson took a 63-day philanthropic bike ride across the United States.  The “Journey of Hope” ride started in San Francisco and ended in Washington, D.C., raising awareness and money across the nation for people with mental and physical disabilities.

“Joining NGPG and working in Georgia’s #1 Heart Hospital is exactly where I want to be,” says Dr. Thompson.  “To be part of a top- rated surgical team and to operate in a facility that is recognized by the American College of Cardiology and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons for having outstanding results for cardiac patient care is exciting” says Dr. Thompson.
