Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) named Connor English Cooper, an inpatient coordinator for Northeast Georgia Physicians Group’s (NGPG) Hospitalist team, its 2019 Employee of the Year during the last of several events this month to recognize long-tenured employees for their service.

“Each year, the selection committee is challenged to select one of our amazing Employees of the Month to be the Employee of the Year,” said Carol Burrell, president and CEO of NGHS. “Conner’s mild-mannered, yet driven and dedicated personality was inspiring to our committee, setting her apart and making the decision an easy one.”

“Connor begins and ends her day with a focus on service excellence in her work product, in supporting her team mates, administrative support to the hospitalists and admitted patients she encounters in all settings,” said Clayton Swalstad, executive director of Inpatient Medicine for NGPG. “She continues to grow professionally through higher education by recently completing her MBA and seeking her Certified Medical Practice Executive credentials through the American College of Medical Practice Executives.”

When Cooper is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Kendall, her two Boykin Spaniels and her many friends and family.

“Conner truly represents the best of us,” said Burrell. “We are very fortunate to have her in our NGHS family.”

During all the Service Award Banquets this month, NGHS recognized a total of 929 employees for their tenure:

  • 465 for five years of service
  • 315 employees for 10-15 years of service
  • 149 employees for 20-45 years of service.
