Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) is excited to announce the addition of Kevin Kane, DO, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle care. Dr. Kane will see patients at NGPG Orthopedic Surgery’s locations in Buford, Braselton and Dacula.
Dr. Kane’s passion for orthopedic surgery stems from helping people regain mobility and return to the activities they love. His clinical expertise includes treating arthritis in the ankle and midfoot, post-traumatic deformities, chronic ankle instability, and performing minimally invasive bunion corrections among other advanced procedures.
“My approach to care goes beyond just looking at X-rays,” Dr. Kane said. “I strive to understand the broader picture in my patients’ lives considering their goals, challenges, and how their injuries affect their work, family and mental health. This mutual understanding guides how we make decisions about your care and treatment plans.”
Dr. Kane earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan, his medical degree from Michigan State University and completed his residency at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital – where he served as chief resident and received extensive training in musculoskeletal care and surgical techniques. After completing his fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta, he and his wife, who is an assistant professor of biomechanics at the University of Georgia, chose to settle in northeast Georgia.
“I was drawn to NGPG because of its core values and the chance to work with a practice that is truly a part of the community it serves,” Dr. Kane explained. “We have enjoyed exploring the region over the past few years, so we are thrilled to be putting down roots here.”
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kane enjoys hiking, trying local restaurants and supporting collegiate athletics with his wife. He is an avid runner, mountain biker and skier – both cross-country and downhill.
“I love almost any outdoor activity,” he added. “So I know how important it is to help my patients with their foot and ankle problems, so they can get back to doing what they love.”
Dr. Kane is now accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, visit ngpg.org/kane or call 770-215-2453.
