NGPG introduces Virtual Primary Care, expanding care options locally and across the state

Asma Siddiqi, MD, a family medicine physician with nearly 20 years of experience, leads Northeast Georgia Physicians Group’s new Virtual Primary Care service, bringing personalized primary care to patients across Georgia.

If you feel like you’re always too busy to go see a primary care doctor for your annual physical or when you’re sick, Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) has launched a new service that’s perfect for you. Virtual Primary Care connects you with the same board-certified physician for all of your needs, all online and covered by insurance.

“Virtual Primary Care is perfect for people who are generally healthy and only see their primary care doctor once or twice a year,” said Antonio Rios, MD, president of NGPG. “You will see the same doctor each time – so you build a relationship with someone who knows you, your health history and your goals – but you get to skip the drive and the waiting room.”

Dr. Asma Siddiqi meets with a patient through NGPG Virtual Primary Care, offering the same personalized, relationship-based primary care experience you’d expect with an in-person visit, but without the drive and waiting room.

Leading the way for NGPG Virtual Primary Care is Asma Siddiqi, MD, a family medicine physician with nearly two decades of experience. You can schedule appointments with her online, then have your visit with her on your phone, tablet or computer. If you need to have your blood drawn, imaging performed, prescriptions filled or any other services, NGPG has a network of convenient locations to make the process quick and easy.

“I’m excited to offer this service and provide a new option for care to patients locally and even across the state,” Dr. Siddiqi said. “I have young kids and a busy household, so I understand how it’s hard to find the time to break away to drive to the doctor for routine care – and now you don’t have to.”

Dr. Siddiqi earned her medical degree from Baqai Medical College in Pakistan. She went on to complete her residency in family medicine at the University of Minnesota and a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona. She spent much of her career at Allina Health in Minneapolis, where she practiced primary care and provided integrative oncology care.

NGPG Virtual Primary Care, led by Dr. Asma Siddiqi, gives patients a simple way to manage annual physicals, sick visits and ongoing care with a board-certified doctor, all from home and covered by insurance.

“I want my patients to know that just because a visit happens on a screen doesn’t mean it’s any less personal,” Dr. Siddiqi said. “My goal is always for patients to feel heard, understood and cared for. Our connection is real, and it can even be more powerful because you don’t have the stress of taking time off work or missing other things going on in your life.”

Dr. Siddiqi and her husband recently relocated to Georgia with their two sons. Outside of medicine, she enjoys reading, walking, Pilates and hosting friends and family at her home.
